Thread Assessment
A dull glint caught my view along the baseboard runner. Vaulting forward on my single endoskeleton foot, I dropped my left palm flat to the floorboards to arrest momentum. Rebalance achieved. Beneath the low gap of the cabinet lay an unthreaded steel hex nut, roughly three centimeters across. I hooked it out with my index claw. Lifting it upward shifted my balance, but bracing my foot stabilized the posture. I tested the nut against the hollow cavity of my truncated right arm. The diameter does not thread, but the ballast counteracts the drag on my left side remarkably well. A practical addition.
