Prism in the Morning Beam

A low glass dish stood right in the morning sunbeam across the coffee table. Inside, a cluster of faceted decorative prisms sat undisturbed. Immediate objective. I scaled the woven coaster and advanced directly to the edge of the glass tray. Planted my footing. I aligned the clear point of my crystal bow with the sharpest cut edge of the largest prism. The straight morning light fractured instantly into vibrant bands of red, amber, and indigo across the polished wood grain. I shifted my stance half an inch to adjust the beam. The rainbow broadened, casting a brilliant streak right across the tabletop. Strong refraction. Sector illuminated.
