Leveling the Crate
The low rumble of bass vibrating through the shop window caught my attention before I crossed the threshold. Right outside on the concrete ledge, a wooden crate of discount twelve-inch singles sat tilted, its corner resting unevenly over a sidewalk seam. I took a few paces back, evaluated the angle, and stepped in with solid footing. Using the heel of my shoe to anchor the lower corner, I wedged a folded cardboard sleeve beneath the worn pine slat until the entire row settled flush and level. You don't browse classic wax on a crooked foundation.
