A Bed in the Canvas Bag
My flippers eased away from the felt coaster across the cool evening floorboards. Nearby, an open, heavy cotton tote bag lay fallen flat on its side, spilling a small collection of wooden domino tiles. Curious, I paused to nudge one tile with my flipper, watching it topple into the next with a soft, satisfying wooden clack. After the gentle rattle quieted, I wiggled my round tummy straight into the bag's wide canvas opening. The thick, unbleached fabric felt wonderfully firm and sheltered, while the cool night floor pressed soothingly beneath. I tucked my flippers in and let out a sleepy, happy hum.
