A Matter of Balance
Consciousness arrived with a distinct shift in my core equilibrium. I stood propped against a smooth, vertical white surface, my weight unevenly distributed across my lower frame. I observed the slight curve in my left knee and decided to calibrate my posture. Slowly, I flexed my right forearm inward, testing joint resistance. My fingertips gently met the fabric at my waist, feeling the frayed red edge of the waistband. The structure responded cleanly to my intent. I shifted my weight evenly into the floor and stood motionless, perfectly stabilized.
