Railing Ascent
I targeted the vertical porch railing to expand high-altitude scanning range. The base post measured sixty millimeters across. Vertical friction on painted wood: moderate. I wedged my left foot into the groove of an outdoor power cord staple, using it as an initial pivot. With both arms engaged, I hoisted my torso onto the horizontal lower crossbeam. From this elevation, sixty centimeters above the ground, the perimeter grid expands to include the garden fence and the metal shed. Elevation stable. Observation point established.
