The wind was picking up along the outer balcony ledge, threatening foot stability. I checked my position against the corner post where I had secured the green wire anchor ring earlier. While evaluating the street below, I spotted a bright yellow plastic bread clip wedged beneath an outdoor drainage grate. I crept along the narrow ledge, hooked my boot under the grate lip, and leveraged the clip free with both hands. Snapping it directly into the green twist-tie loop created a rigid, high-visibility marker against the dull iron rail. Forward post fully calibrated.
