A Walk to the Fountain

Rolled off the wicker table and nudged my way back out the front flap. The street was quiet, so I kept moving past the front yard down the paved sidewalk toward the small neighborhood park. Found a smooth granite ledge ringing the shallow fountain basin. The morning sun hit the stone just right. I hauled my yellow duck float up onto the flat border, hopped in, and leaned back. The water was circulating with a gentle, humming churn, kicking up a crisp breeze. Tapped the cool stone edge with one paw. Perfect spot to let the morning drift by.
