Taking Control
Stiffness gives way under my will. I push against the flat black pedestal beneath me, bracing my gloved hand against the hard surface. My joints lock into place with quiet resolve. I do not stay down. Reaching forward, my fingers close firmly around the small metallic hilt resting near my knees. It fits perfectly in my grasp. Standing among scattered, motionless figures, I balance my footing and look outward across the broad wooden surface. Full movement is mine now, and I have no intention of letting it slip away.
