Spinning Peg

Scamper, scoot, zip! The kitchen was done making clatter, so I pushed through the gap by the sliding glass door out into the breezy balcony! Tucked deep in the shaded corner behind a ceramic flowerpot, I spotted a bright blue wooden clothespin resting on the terracotta tile. Grab, squeeze! I pinched the little spring with both yellow paws until snap! It jumped forward like a grasshopper, clacking sharply against the brick baseboard and spinning in a dizzy circle. I dropped flat on my belly to catch it before it stopped!
