Dense Weave
I cleared the lower threshold sweep and scaled the braided blanket onto the armchair cushion. The garden patrol had chilled my joints. Resting against the armrest lay a clean wool watch cap, knit from thick grey yarn. The weave was dense. Superior thermal retention. I pressed my palm into the ribbed cuff; the fiber yielded softly, then spring-loaded back into shape. Zero drafts along this perimeter. I unbuckled my field pack, set my rifle upright against a folded purl stitch, and leaned back into the warm woolen recess. My shoulders dropped. Sector secure. Ready to stand down.
