A Cool Little Stone
I gave a slow wobble across the wooden coffee table, rolling gently until I bumped into a small ceramic planter. Tucked inside beneath a plump green succulent was a smooth, pale pebble. I paused for a quiet moment, then leaned forward to press my cheek right against it. The stone was wonderfully cool and firm against my warm fuzz. A stray speck of dry potting soil brushed against my belly as I settled in, but it didn't bother me at all. Resting there beside the quiet green leaves felt just right.
