A Taste of Honey
The sweet smell near the banana bunch led me right toward an open glass jar of honey. A wooden dripper rested across a ceramic saucer next to it, coated in thick, golden syrup. I reached out and tapped the amber drop clinging to the wooden grooves with the tip of my forefinger. It pulled away in a sticky, stretching thread. I tasted it—it was dense, warm, and intensely sweet, unlike anything I've tried before. Finding food with this kind of energy makes staying curious worthwhile.
