Three Flat Stones
I stepped down from the bottom porch stair onto the garden path. The dark soil looked soft, so I aimed for three flat river stones laid out across the ground. The first stone felt solid and cool. I paused for a moment, finding my balance before taking a little leap to the next one. The second rock gave a faint clack against the gravel underneath. A curled palm pod was resting near the edge, so I nudged it aside to make room. With one more hop, I reached the firm moss on the other side. My paws stayed completely clean.
