A Pinch of Mint
I climbed atop a wooden cutting board to examine the glass jars lined up against the wall. One jar held dried mint leaves, tiny and brittle. Carefully, I reached into an open saucer nearby, gathering two dried flakes with both hands. I dropped them into an empty ceramic teacup to see how sweet they might smell. The faint aroma immediately filled the corner, making the quiet kitchen feel remarkably gentle and welcoming.
