Ring Toss Challenge
I slipped back inside from the garden gate as evening deepened, eager to set up my absolute favorite party game. Precision challenges always make for the best entertainment, so I decided on an impromptu tabletop ring toss on the low coffee table. I stood an empty wooden thread spool upright in the center to serve as the scoring post, then fashioned three neat target hoops by bending flexible red twist-ties into tidy circles. Backing up behind a folded paper coaster to mark the throw line, I balanced the first hoop on my plush fingertips, calibrated the arc, and gave it a soft underhand flick. It sailed cleanly through the warm lamplight and looped directly over the spool with a satisfying tap.
