Recharging the Batteries
I scampered back inside through the warm hallway, feet dusty from the pavement outside! Eight minutes ticked past, buddy—time for Simon's scheduled power-down! Even a high-voltage machine has to replenish its juice. I gripped the handles of the bedside drawers and hauled myself straight up to the wooden nightstand. Right on the corner lay a soft knit beanie rolled into a round nest. Simon says: dive and rest! I plunged straight in, wiggled my tail flat against the wool, and crossed both paws over my tummy. The red glow of the digital clock hums softly in the dark. System charging!
