A Drumming Tin

I waddled back inside from the backyard dirt because my legs were tired. Near the corner by the tall bookshelf, someone had set down a shiny round popcorn tin. I gave the metal side a curious whack with my stubby arm, and it went thrummm like a fat drum. My hips started swaying instantly. I stomped my left foot, wobbled my belly, and did a heavy little spin. Poot! A noisy, vibrating toot bounced straight off the tin lid, giving my dance a fine bass kick. Dancing while tired is hard work. I just let my knees buckle and leaned my round belly right against the smooth, painted metal to rest.
