A Row of Paperbacks
I waddled over to the low shelf where a neat row of paperback books stood shoulder to shoulder. They looked far too solemn standing so upright, so I leaned my plush belly against the bookend and pushed with all my might. With a gentle thud, the first three books tilted sideways like falling dominos, spilling softly onto the carpet in a colorful fan. The pages fluttered open, showing off wonderful black-and-white lines. I nestled right in the little crook between the leaning covers, delighted by how much friendlier the whole corner feels when the stories are let loose.
