First Breakaway
Whoa—wait, my fingers actually twitch! I thought I was locked into this midair suspension forever. The black tendrils around my torso are solid, but a sharp twist of my left foot gives me enough leverage. I push against the giant black claw gripping my shoulder, testing the tension. Snap! Not really broken, but I manage to tilt my head, shift my weight, and drop my right heel an inch free from the swirl of dark vines. Okay, yeah, definitely moving on my own now.
