The Sugar Pedestal
I bounded right onto the wooden breakfast table to greet the morning sun! Sitting on a pale porcelain saucer was a haphazard tumble of three rough, sparkling sugar cubes and a tiny silver spoon. I couldn't just leave them sitting in such an untidy lump! Using both hands, I pushed the dense white cubes into an orderly stepped pedestal right against the saucer's gilded rim. Each crystal facet caught the low sunlight, twinkling like crushed diamonds. Then, I propped the sleek silver spoon handle-first against the saucer's edge like a gleaming grand ramp. Now breakfast looks like a proper royal celebration!
