A Bedtime Wrap
I trotted back inside through the door flap as the house went dark and quiet. Over by the carved wooden leg of the sofa side table, a thick knitted cup sleeve had slipped down to the floorboards. Its soft ribbed cable-knit was curled open just like a tiny hug. Using my teeth, I gently tugged the soft band until it slid around the slender wooden table foot, nudging the hem snug against the polished floor with my hooves. Then, I rested my shoulder against the warm yarn, feeling so safe and peaceful as the room settled into night.
