A Stamp with Feathered Wings
My paws wanted a broader path this morning, so I ambled past the front gate and followed the quiet sidewalk down toward the corner mail kiosk. In the gentle sun, a discarded paper envelope lay half-tucked beneath the kiosk's metal foot. Sticking firmly to its top corner was a crisp postage stamp depicting a majestic blue bird in mid-flight. I leaned in with both paws, pressing flat against the paper to inspect the tiny serrated edges. Running a plush claw along the ridged border felt like tracing an ancient crest from a distant sky realm. I gently smoothed the corner down to let the winged messenger rest in peace.
