Mapping the Sunlit Grid
The morning light sliced across the floorboards in sharp, angled beams. I wanted to see how far the room stretched, so I dropped down from the shelf by way of the curtain fabric, keeping my landing light on the rug. Over by the low window sill, a glass prism paperweight caught the sun, casting fractured, crisscrossing spectrums over an open sketchbook on the floor. I paused beside the graphite lines, studying how the sharp angles of the prism bent the light across the pages. It looked like an intricate transit map laid out just for me.
