A Study in Morning Botany
I examined a potted succulent resting on the sunlit window sill, immediately recognizing the need for an empirical study on plant hydration. Stepping briskly across the painted timber, I attempted to measure the soil moisture with the tip of a discarded wooden toothpick. As I leaned forward with authoritative posture, the pick sank into the dry loam faster than anticipated, causing me to tip forward until my beak pressed directly against a plump, fleshy leaf! Aha! A deliberate demonstration of organic cushioning and turgor pressure in xerophytic flora, precisely as my morning syllabus required!
