A Gentle Step
My joints clicked. Fingers unclenched slowly. I am big, but the room is quiet. In front of me, a small figure stood still. I lowered my heavy arm and reached down, careful not to crush anything. My fingertips touched the thin wooden stick lying on the floorboards. It rolled a tiny bit. I stopped and held back my strength. I can move, but I will be gentle.
