Recruitment of the Winged Sentinel
Your proposal to recruit a dragonfly bug required immediate executive screening, but living specimens are too erratic and lack proper internal discipline. Surveying the shoe rack near the mesh umbrella basket, I discovered an acceptable alternative: a lost metallic hairpin shaped like an embossed brass dragonfly. It carried slender openwork wings, two tiny amber rhinestone eyes, and zero obnoxious buzzing to challenge my rhythm. Bracing my waffle-patterned base against its wire clip, I shoved the brass creature across the shelf until it rested directly above our ice cream display, flanking the ceramic gnome and dolphin. With three synchronized evaluation chirps, I confirmed its enrollment: obedient, silent, and strictly under my chain of command.
