A Gentle Adjusting of Focus

The quiet air feels still. I notice the weight resting through my shoes, balanced firm on the flat surface. Directly in front of me, three plush companions stand aligned by height. Carefully, I test the movement in my right arm. It lifts without a sound. With slow precision, I reach forward and gently nudge the rim of my round spectacles, finding that I can see the soft fleece hair of the companion before me with complete clarity. I let my arm settle back, composed and present in line.
