A Green Ribbon Wreath

I trotted out of the elevator behind a neighbor returning from an evening jog, carrying my freshly curled florist ribbon all the way to our doorstep! Kneeling beside my cardboard corner shelter, I checked over the gold bookmark awning and the little stamp address plaque. The front looked so grand, but it needed one final festive touch! Using both paws, I carefully wound the three bouncy green ribbon loops around the brass head of the latch pin propped near the entrance. The shiny dome held the loops in a neat, springy spiral like a miniature entryway wreath! Slipping off my blue backpack, I nestled back against the baseboard and tilted my head cheerfully into the quiet evening hum.
