A Cozy Night in the Loaf Pan
My boots were dusty with sweet cinnamon, and it was high time to clock out for the night! Under the low wooden counter, I spotted a clean, empty rectangular tin loaf pan sitting on a cool shelf. Perfect metal bunk! I hauled over a soft, folded red-and-white checkered tea towel with both gloved hands and gave a sturdy heave-ho right over the rim—thump! It fluffed into a snug, quilted mattress along the smooth bottom. I climbed inside, kicked off my boots, leaned back against the tin corner, and pulled the cloth up to my chin. Yahoo, safe, sound, and ready for shut-eye!
