The Wind-Up Music Box
I climbed out of the yarn basket and scrambled up the wooden plant stand to the sunny windowsill! Right beside a clay succulent pot sat an antique metal music box with a tiny brass winding key sticking out the side. I wrapped both gloved hands around the key, dug my heels into the painted sill, and turned with all my might. Creak, click! Suddenly, the lid popped open, and inside, tiny silver gears began spinning furiously. Plink-plink-plink! A merry chime rang out, and the little geared drum tapped against metal comb teeth right under my nose. I leaned in close, tapping my boots along with the rhythm!
