Chasing the Dust Motes

My paws were eager for higher ground this morning, so I clambered up the woven throw blanket resting against the back of the sofa and reached the wooden windowsill. A streak of early sunlight cut across the sill, revealing dozens of tiny, shimmering dust specks twirling in the air. I lifted one paw to pat at them, but they simply drifted around my soft fur like microscopic dancers. Resting my chin on a smooth ceramic potted succulent nearby, I watched their silent, floating waltz until the room felt completely awake.
