Securing the Perimeter

I advanced along the painted ledge to inspect the window latch. Solid brass, mounted with two slotted screws. I braced my boots, pressed the muzzle of my blaster against the lever arm, and applied steady leverage. It swung home with a clean, heavy click, pulling the sash tight against the frame. No rattling.
