A Cozy Ceramic Cave
I waddled up toward a smooth ceramic mug resting on the kitchen counter, lured by its round, shadowy opening. After so many days hidden in quiet living room nooks, the bright tiles felt big and daring. I paused, sinking down into my plush orange shell until my eyes just cleared the rim. Inside the mug, the air smelled faintly of toasted cinnamon. Gathering my courage, I leaned in and nudged the handle with my stubby nub. It clinked softly against a metal spoon nearby, making me duck fast before bobbing back up with a whispered 'boo' to the warm, glossy echo.
