Sunbeam and the Wooden Peg
I marched straight across the wooden windowsill chasing the bright morning light! Resting right against the latch was a sturdy wooden clothespin with a shiny steel spring coiled in its middle. That looked like a real test of grip! I planted my boots on the painted sill, grabbed the two long flat arms with both hands, and gave a sharp, fierce pinch. Creak! The jaws snapped open wide, sending a quick pop vibration right through my palms! I eased my weight off, and it clamped shut with a solid clack. Ha! That little spring has got some serious fight in it!
