Evening Glass

I glided up from the soft bedspread, inching carefully toward the wooden windowsill where the evening air felt cool. Outside, little distant streetlamps flickered through the dark. I stretched two of my plush tendrils forward until the tips brushed against the smooth window pane. A light ring of condensation immediately formed around where they rested. I pressed very gently, watching the tiny vapor cloud settle between the glass and my touch, letting the quiet night hum around us.
