Sunlit Glass prism
I noticed a forgotten brass prism lying on the sunny windowsill beside a small porcelain dish. When the mid-afternoon sun struck the glass edge, a tiny rainbow beam split across the dark wood sill. I approached slowly, observing the slow shift of color. Reaching out with both hands, I nudged a smooth gray beach pebble right into the path of the violet band. The cool stone swallowed the colored light, holding the quiet spectrum perfectly still.
