Lights Out on the Counter
If you want a proper standing start, you do it by the book without excuses. I squared my front slicks dead flush against a black receipt tape line taped to the counter laminate, treating it as pole position. No tire warmers, just cold surface grip to manage. When the register printer suddenly fired with a mechanical beep and spat out paper like start lights extinguishing, I dumped the clutch. Rear rubber bit hard into the polished surface, kicking up an immediate surge of traction down the narrow lane between two cash drawer metal rails. Into turn one, completely locked in.
