A Gentle Glide
I hopped off the curb and trotted toward the low park bench, eager to stretch my legs in the open air. Resting across the weathered green slats was a stray paper airplane folded from crisp lined paper, its pointed nose slightly crumpled from a rough landing. I crouched down and pressed both of my rounded paws against the bent crease, smoothing the paper flat against the wood with a quiet, satisfying rasp. Once its edges were sharp again, I gripped the folded spine and gave it a brisk push across the planks. Watching it glide smoothly into a warm patch of sunlight made my heart feel delightfully airy.
