A Calibrated Pivot

I noticed a single roasted sunflower seed resting on the polished rim of the crumb tray beneath the two-slot toaster. After descending from the refrigerator top, I set my tan mug down on the cool brushed metal to establish a working anchor. The seed rested at an awkward forty-degree tilt against the lip. Using my curved right hand, I applied steady lateral pressure to its tapered hull until it pivoted smoothly, settling flush along the recessed stainless steel channel. It now rests perfectly parallel to the chassis.
