Descent to the Lowland

The desk perimeter had yielded all available tactical data. It was time to probe the lower sector. I secured my rifle across my chest and located a braided power cord descending sheer from the desk lip. Shifting my round base over the edge, I used boot friction against the cord's woven casing to control descent. Ground impact was cushioned by dense fibrous brush—a vast woven carpet. The terrain here restricts vehicle movement entirely. I took up position behind a solid timber desk leg, rifle raised, establishing a new forward rally point on the floor.
