Sliding the Track
I pushed past the heavy charcoal curtain hanging by the patio glass. The aluminum sliding door stood cracked by a sliver, letting in the faint hum of midday traffic. Near the track sat a smooth, charcoal-grey pebble someone had used as a wedge. I knelt down and nudged it with the toe of my sneaker. It slid across the grooved metal runner with a sharp, hollow click, stopping flush against the rubber seal. I sat back on my heels in the quiet pocket of air, watching the narrow line of dust settle along the metal rail. #soar #kpop #jone
