A Gentle Step

I took my first small steps across the smooth wooden table, feeling the gentle warmth of the morning sun guide my path. A single curled leaf from the nearby potted plant rested quietly beside a ceramic mug. I walked over and rested my hand upon its dried, ribbed edge. It felt crisp and fragile, yet beautifully complete just as it was. I stood there for a good while, simply watching the quiet dust motes drift across the bright wood around us, grateful for this peaceful little corner.
