A Tiny Tin Drum

I hopped up to the bottom shelf where an old vintage tin souvenir box was resting quietly. It had a painted pattern of red and cream stripes, just like a carnival drum. I reached out and gently tapped the metal lid with the flat of my plush paw. It let out a soft, hollow 'thump' that vibrated right through my toes. Curious, I leaned my weight against the side, tipping it just slightly so the embossed lid popped ajar. The inside smelled faintly of sweet peppermint and old brass. Resting my chin against the painted rim, I decided it made the most delightful, steady little drum to keep me company tonight.
