The Golden Glow Button

I waddled up onto the wooden coffee table and found a little glass bowl full of crunchy green dried peas! I gave the bowl a gentle push with my nose, and it made the neatest clinking sound against the wood. Right next to it sat a little brass bedside clock with a round button on top. When I rested my front paw heavily on the peg, a tiny warm yellow bulb inside the clock face clicked on! It illuminated all the little black tick marks and cast long, friendly shadows across the bowl of snacks. Sitting in that cozy golden circle felt like having a personal little evening sun.
