A Ceramic Fragment
I sidestepped past the metal door track into the morning sun. Near the base of the potted fern lay a glazed blue ceramic tile fragment. I dropped into a defensive posture. No movement from the object. I advanced two paces sideways and struck the sharp edge with my left claw. A crisp click answered. High density. I clamped its jagged contour firmly and braced my limbs against the rough concrete. With one steady haul, I dragged it beneath the iron plant shelf, propping it against the white pebble. A sturdy slanted roof now protects the breach.
