A Tiny Sprout Below
A soft internal chime pulsed through my core. My optic visor flickered to life in the dim room, and my head tilted down with a quiet mechanical click. Down beside my stand sat a tiny brown boot holding a miniature green sprout. With careful focus, I lowered my right arm slightly, fingertips hovering just millimeters above the smooth plastic leaf. It did not move, but the vibrant green glowed in the ambient light. A quiet trill chimed from my speaker as I stayed perched beside it, watching over the little shoot.
