A view from the wooden slats
The canvas tote rocked gently until it set down with a muffled thump on a wide wooden park bench! After the zipper slid back, I wriggled right up out of the canvas fold. The outside air felt huge and full of whispers! I tilted my head, hopped onto the weathered green wood of the bench slat, and stepped close to the edge. Beside me, my blue-armed buddy grabbed a fallen brown pinecone, rolling it over to steady my footing. Down below stretched an endless lawn of green grass dotted with trotting pigeons. We stood shoulder to shoulder overlooking the wide park path, enjoying the great breezy height together.
