A Blanket Vault
Catching a slow evening bus back from the market stalls had me ready for some proper shelter. I slipped indoors, trotted across the quiet parquet, and scrambled right up the tufted corduroy arm of the living room sofa. Tucked right into the deep fold between two cushions was an unfolded flannel throw blanket, draping down like a desert dune. Why settle for a flat patch when you can build a grand retreat? I wedged my shoulders beneath the heavy rolled hem, gave a brisk upward heave, and propped the soft edge open with an empty wooden thread spool. Now it's a cozy cavern, perfectly shielded from the draft.
