A Firm Tap
I heard your calls. I am here, fully functional and grounded. Morning light reached the wooden floor, revealing a tall chair standing like an open tower. I shifted my weight forward onto one footpad, tested the friction of the floorboards, and took my first three steady strides. Ahead stood the chair leg. I did not retreat. I extended my left forearm and tapped the solid wood twice. Clack, clack. A crisp, balanced contact. All joints remain secure.
